Halloween recipe for Amerikaner

First of all I have to apologize for my absence. I was on holiday in Rome for one week with my family and had an amazing time. I did take some pictures which I will show you in another post.

I don't want to miss out on Halloween, so I'm going to share with you one of my favourite recipes
- Amerikaner. They are quick and easy to make, super tasty, and they make a good surprise for any party. And be prepared, there will always be someone who will ask you for the recipe.

For approximately 15 Amerikaner, you will need:

500 g self raising flour
200 g margarine
200 g sugar
100 ml milk
1/2 bottle vanilla flavour
4 eggs
1 pinch of salt

  1. Mix sugar, margarine and the eggs together, until it's creamy.
  2. Add flour, vanilla flavour and milk and mix it in.
  3. Put small heaps of the mixture on the tray (or put one spoonful of mixture into a muffin form) and bake them for 15 min at 200 degrees until they are golden brown.
  4. Let them cool of, before decorating them.

500 g Icing sugar
1 Lemon
Orange food colour
Coconut flakes
Fruit gums Halloween Style

  1. Squeeze the juice of the lemon and mix it with the icing sugar. Add the food colouring.
  2. Apply the icing on the flat side of the Amerikaner and decorate it with Halloween Fruit gums. (alternatively you can decorate them with chocolate cream, sugar sprinkles or coconut flakes)

I hope you like them as much as I do! Mmmmh!
